That would be Johnson Controls, it’s on the top of the battery (at least it was in 2017).

also and if I am wrong please let me know but.alsp don't batter manufacturers put a date stamp or label on the batteries stating date.and or.at.least year of manufacturing?

I read.somewhere not.top long ago that when going to shop for batteries for a car to look for.a.date.that's closest to the date.your picking it up to be fresher than ones that have been sitting around for a while?
    Might help .

Thanks for all the help. I didn't even bother with the dealer since I'm at 49k. Autozone verified the battery was bad. Got a Duralast gold and called it a day. Annoying, but so far the truck has been flawless.

With modern vehicles that will only work if there's enough juice in the battery to power the ECM, fuel injectors, etc... Gone are they days when your battery could be completely dead and you could still push start.

Yea. But unless it’s a physical problem with the battery they usually have enough juice for at least one try.
A bigger problem is darned few know how to push start an automatic.

Like many other things...it's sad to see Toyota using inferior quality batteries...myself I use AGM...Optima Red Top...those too can be crap. I know because one of them died in less than a year...second Optima now...hopefully it lasts...made in Mexico

From the factory there are about 4-5 common suppliers. Replacement parts in North America are typically supplied by East Penn, but not always.
