Any Mods? One. Maybe two, tops...
Currently I have 5 285/70 17 Goodyear Dura Track tires and IMHO they have been pretty good tires.

I got all 5 new tires @ 116,000 mi on the odometer. I’m now just shy of 160,000 mi on the odometer.

So far I had these tires for 44,000 mi and I can probably get 10,000 mi more before I definitely need new ones. I think it’s been decent.

What I want is recommendations on other brands, I’m looking at same size, 285/70 17, and also a nice tread design for mud and snow.

What is also a must, is a quiet ride. I don’t want annoying drone noise at highway speed.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Rick.

Which new bfg’s? You have a model number? Also, which Coopers?

I also have duratracs that have probably another year left on them, I really like them also. One of the guys local to me (NW Iowa) has the Kenda Klever RT's and he thinks they are just as good as the Durtacs in the snow and offroad, they are also almost half the cost. We get mostly average snow, dense wet snow and often packed snow on the roads for long periods of time. Plus temps that will drop below 0F quite frequently.

I now have the duratracs on my Tacoma that were on there when I purchased the vehicle but I will replace with the BFG KO2's pretty soon as the duratracs are coming near the end of their life.

This is what the BFG's look like https://www.walmart.com/ip/BFGoodrich-All-Terrain-T-A-KO2-275-65R20-126-S-Tire/44799193
The BFG's have great grip, a quieter ride, and last very well. I had several sets of the BFG's on my last Tacoma before I sold it and I loved them.

I like the duratracs but they have too much road noise for me even though they are quieter than many other beefy truck tires.

They are quieter than the Cooper STT PRO's pros if road noise is a big deal to you. But the Coopers are quieter than many others.

I will say that winter driving (and rain) with K02's is not very good, especially when the temps dip below 0F. Driven many vehicles with them with varying tread depth on all sorts of trucks.

Yeah I don't have any experience with them under those conditions as I live in FL.
But I have to say they are by far my favorite truck tire with the aggressive look, low road-noise, and good for offroading.
Only been stuck one time in them. Sunk to the axles in mud
