2017 with tow package - possible to move 4-pin connector to behind the bumper?

    Kind of a weird question but I bought a custom 3rd brake light that attaches to the hitch, and plugs in via the 4-pin trailer connector. I'd like to avoid having an ugly wire exposed just hanging there, so is it possible to 'unhook' the 4pin female connector and have it connect on the other side of the bumper instead?

    Basically I want to have the wire go behind the bumper so it's cleaner looking. Wondering if anyone's tinkered around with that plug before.

    I spliced into the harness at that connector to provide power to my air bag inflation pump, etc.

    I used a Hopkins 41157 to splice into the existing harness (plug and play). You will then have to splice into the Hopkins wire to connect to whatever you want.

    Note, this allows the existing tow power to remain installed and functional, etc.

    If you dont want the original tow trailer connection, then there are other options, but I dont know their numbers off the top of my head.

    Cut to length needed, save the pigtail, attach the quick fix and seal it with rtv.
