What comes with getting a new (to me) truck seems to come with a lot of meticulous scrutiny and the desire to fix things...

high in my list is fixing this crack in the back of the bed. It’s right near the tailgate and although, not structural, is bugging me a bit.

I’m assuming an epoxy is the trick but any other ideas? What type of epoxy & the best process to clean it up. Pricey $1,770 to replace it entirely... the mount for the spare is also dented... assuming the previous owner backed into something and only replaced the bumper/tailgate.

Cut out any loose stuff, fiberglass to fill voids and grind smooth-ish.

Finish the whole bed with www.monstaliner.com if you want it spiffed up because you're not really using it.

Otherwise, use a piece of aluminum that is the width from the edge to the bed ridges, + enough to turn down at the edge of the bed 1/2" or so to cover the area with. The existing bolts in the area should hold it down, or add a few more if needed.
