So 2 things is this little tab supposed to come off the battery? Has anyone else not been able to separate the rubber pad from the backing and not have the sticky stuff stuck to the rubber pad?

You can just peel that back it's for the adhesive on the other side of that tab. I took that whole circular felt thing off mine but it's supposed to be there for whatever purpose. Just make sure to take those two pieces of red tape off the charger before sliding it into the bezel.

So if you want to make install super quick. Take out the 12 volt socket and tap into there. Then with a coat hanger push the little charger plug all the way through and it will come out the other end. Then it just tucks right in under the cup holder. I use a small utility knife to make a hole in the well brought the charger plug up and boom 25 minutes tops

Now I just have to figure out why mine won't change with the OtterBox Case on. Take the case off and place it in the rubber pad LED turns blue. OtterBox Case on stays red.

What phone and what type of otter box case? I’m curious. I have an iPhone 8 Plus with the slim otter box case. I know they make some pretty bulky ones.

Not sure why you're offering info on a competing product in the OP's thread. You sent info on it to me, but never responded to my request for pics of a 6MT install. Since I communicated extensively with Scoche years ago, I'm confident what you suggest is incompatible with 6MT consoles. Moreover, OP's product is almost 30% less expensive (almost 20% incl shipping). Based on your early interest and recent posts, it appears you decided to go a different direction, which is fine, but it's no reason to push a competing product here.

+1. The problem is almost certainly your case's thickness, which places the phone's charging coil beyond the charger's range. (Yes, wireless charging range is pretty limited.) This is true even for the Samsung-branded desktop units my wife and I use for our Galaxy phones. My S10 charges through the case I use, but my wife's S8 doesn't without removing the slightly thicker case she uses. Unfortunately, this is a YMMV thing.

    EDIT
The issue MAY be at least partly related to the S8's charging system/ability.

I hear ya but one thing I never do is bring my phone anywhere without a case. So this mod is now kind of useless to me unless I leave my phone unprotected which will never happen. It is what it is I guess, but $82.00 in the toilet to me. Maybe it will work better once I get my newer iPhone.
