2020 Tacoma TRD Sport. Dealer installed 2” leveling kit- 17” XD wheels and Nitto Duragrappler 285R 70 17 tires. I’ve had the truck for a month and can definitely notice tire rub when the wheels are turned and backing up. Yesterday I realized that the upper control arms are rubbing on the inner wall of the tire. I’m not sure what the Toyota dealer is going to say about correcting this. A local truck shop said 265/70/17 is the biggest tire size that will fit and the tires are to large. Open to suggestions on correcting this.

Two options, 1st as suggested narrower tire, 2nd different wheel offset. You could go with 3rd option, wheel spacers.

Yes and thank you. That is the exact advice a four wheel truck shop gave me. Given this is a brand new vehicle, I’m kinda against “rigging” it with spacers. I checked the wheel manufacturer XD and the wheel itself only comes in one offset. This the answer seems to be going to a 165 tire size. I appreciate the input my friend.

If the dealer installed them take it back and have them correct the situation. Tires should never rub. If they do somebody blew it big time. This can cause serious steering problems later.
