What to do with an 18"x24" pallet that had 500# of flat landscape stones I used for my pond.

Well.....First thing let's remove a few boards and sand. Next, it gets a coat of antique linen chalk paint.

    IMG_8105.jpg

Next, it gets a thin coat of smoke glaze for chalk paint.

    IMG_8123.jpg

Now, we'll start to add some goodies...

    IMG_8122.jpg

Waiting on some vintage PA State Game Land border marker and a few pics.

Got my first kill with the new bow. I put two arrows in him, first shot was a little further back then I’d like. The second shot sealed the deal. Even then it still ran 85 yards. I had no idea it had the huge tumor on it’s leg when I shot it. This is also the first hog I’ve shot that was infested with worms. The worms were falling out of the entrance and exit holes. My buddy came over to look at it and almost threw up. I called the biologist at the WMA and he wanted nothing to with it. I felt funny leaving it there but at the same time, no way would I serve that to my family.

Oh wow.. that’s gnarly! I’ve never seen anything like that!

we don’t even attempt processing hogs in Texas unless it’s below 40 degrees outside because of hookworms. I shoot and let them lay any other time of the year

    Future archers!
    Love it.
    Cute kids! Nice bow.
I had bows for all the kids and xtras for any friends/visitors when they were younger.
Always had some kind of target setup like my current one to make it fun.

One of our favorite games was popping ballons.
    Good times!

Dude that pig,,,,, you did the right thing. Good job.
I shot a mule deer once, it just didnt look right when I first jumped it.
Found out why when I got up to it.
Somebody had EPICALLY FAILED on a neck shot.
    Poor thing.
Sometimes I feel bad for our blacktails when Im watching them because they are so infested with fleas and ticks in the summer. But those worms...and all that sweet meat...what a shame.

    Anyways....
Srry to keep interrupting and jumping in, figured I should introduce myself at least cause I plan on sticking around.
Didnt mean to jack the thread, figured itd fire up those of you that dont even start until october.
Altho I am jealous, thats rifle season time for us if we dont fill both tags with our bows.

Hey, my name is anthony and I am addicted to archery.
    Always have been
    Always will be.

Its my younger brother's turn this morning, hes off on a stalk....
Hes a decent buck. A little young but those backstraps will do just fine.
Almost a twin to my opening morning buck last season.

Thanks for not skewering me for leaving that hog. Like probably most everyone on here I don’t like to see anything go to waste, especially if I killed it. I have no idea how many hog I’ve killed over the years- 150+ with ease and I’ve never seen anything like this one. Oh well. It’s first month of archery for deer and I’m getting out every weekend trying to make it happen. I’ve had a few good stalks and can’t wait for everything to fall into place and connect with one. Happy hunting.
