Hey guys. Earlier this week my aftermarket radio stopped working in my truck. I had a hope that it would just turn back on some day but it hasn't.

I took a meter to the fuses marked Radio No.1 and Radio No.2 (I don't know why there are two) and both fuses are good and have power on both side of the contacts. The fuse on the back of the radio is also good. I am not sure which wire is power to the radio (I believe it is red) but none of the wire have 12V. I jumped a wire from the battery straight to the radio and it turned on.

With this information, I would think the wire to the radio has been damaged. Question is, are there any other components I should be checking? Right now the fix seems to be running a new wire to the radio from my bussman. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Did you solder all the connections or did you use butt connectors? If you used butt connectors maybe one of the connections seperated. Me, personally, I always solder the connections. Running a new wire from your bussman may leave the radio always on, unless the Bussman is wired to the ignition

I used wire nuts, but I tested for power at the stock wire. I did wire the bussman to the ignition, so it is a valid option.

then obviously its the wiring of the new unit, you need to find the hot line for the connector plug and see if it has 12v right off the bat
