My truck recently started shaking when i get to around 40mph, like it can't switch gears. When i let off the gas it goes away and then when i hit it again it starts shaking. It doesn't happen all the time but it's to the point where it's going to the shop. Anyone have a similar problem or experience? It's a 2003. Hope i'm in the right thread.

doesn't seem to. 40-50mph seems to be when it happens. just on acceleration. tires were just balanced and everything. just had an oil change. it kinda feels like when your ABS brakes hit. that jolting feeling. i'm saying transmission

no squeak when backing up that i heard. not to say that it wasn't though. it's in the shop right now. how costly is it to get this fixed if it was a bad u-joint and would a lift cause this problem?

U-joints aren't expensive for the most part... likely charge you more in labor than for the U-joint itself. Fairly simple install.

As far a lifts, sure, the angle added to the driveline can and often does result in premature wear.
