So a lady ran a red and this is the result. Everyone inside is fine and the truck did amazingly. Just curious if I should start looking for a replacement or a start a shopping list.

At Tacoma residual prices right now... I'm guessing parts vs. total.

No airbags. But the passenger door rubs the fender when opening and the gap between the bed is not the same on both sides. I’m letting insurance handle it.

The good news is that the frame looks ok. Your looking hood, fenders, bumper, grill, headlights, fogs, and some adjustments to the body mounts. My guess is around 10k in damage, possibly a little more if there is some inner structure damage.

Looks just about like my accident, yours may be a little worse. Mine didn't even get into the radiator support, but like yours got the hood and fenders and the door rubbed on the fenders. I think it was around 12k and done by the best shop in the area. Unfortunately, they won't total it.

Aftermarket headlights, some of those fancy superwide fenders, and get one of them fancy steel bumpers so this doesn't happen again.

One of those fancy steel bumpers may actually total the truck if this happens again. In a low speed crash, the steel bumper will hold just fine, in a 30+ mph crash though, the steel bumper will transfer all that impact into the frame rails causing them to bend or buckle at the crumple zones. The factory bumper will crumple before getting to the frame rails.

So..... just heard back from insurance and its totaled. Came down to needing a frame replacement because some of the brackets that attach to the frame are not available independently. Im pretty bummed but have already ran to the yard and removed as much as I could and will be back in a new taco shortly.

Is insurance typically cool with the owner pulling any aftermarket parts if its totaled? I assume at that point they don't care right? Asking just for general knowledge.

If they are not going to pay you for the aftermarket parts, then you should be able to take them.

Every single damaged part on your truck has a modded/upgrade alternative available. I know because I've done them all...

hmmm... I should sell of every part of my truck and buy the aftermarket version... then if they total it, all they get is a frame and a dashboard.
