    Morning all:
Welcome, where did all these Mark's come from!
At one time a bunch of Carl's came in to the local convenience store, there was big Carl, bald Carl, neat Carl, 57 Carl, and old Carl, guess which one I was! :pout: :laughing:Congratulations, a thank you for your service, and a salute to your son!

Do your self a favor and apply 2 coats of the wax a day apart. This gives the first coat 24 hours to bond to the paint surface. You can also use the same wax, M20 on the wheels, just use a different applicator pad and polishing cloth as the brake pad dust will contaminate the applicator pad and polishing cloth and you really do not want to be using them on the Tacoma's painted surface. Be sure to post up before and after pics.

Do you already have some decent microfiber polishing cloths? Meg's makes nice ones that can be purchased at any auto parts store. I would steer clear of the bargain microfiber towels. They have their use working on a vehicle but not on a painted surface.

Morning all. I have been called many names besides Mark in my time...so I'll answer to anything!! We were up and out early to crew a hot air balloon flight for the company we work with. Still not flying passengers yet - just crew flights so we and the pilots maintain our skills and safe practices. Beautiful day to fly, though! And we always get a little champagne to celebrate when we're all packed up.

I like to play old man tennis (mostly doubles) and every once in a while I get on the court with 3 other guys all named Dan. Lots of fun for me, I start right away. "Hi Dans" , one of them will say "whose serve is it" . I pipe right up, "it's Dans serve". " good shot Dan" . If the ball goes between em, "that was Dans" . All in good humor for practice matches with buddies. Now if it was a league match with people from another town we would be all serious but that's another story.

Hi Carl and other 60 + regulars.

I have been taking a sabbatical for awhile and decided to check in today. Lo and behold my profile was missing so I suppose I qualify as a new old member.

Hope everyone has been doing well during my absence and Mark is enjoying his new truck and retirement.

We finally got around to power washing the patio next to the fish pond. I’m having trouble uploading images on phone so we’ll see what happens!

Now I remember why I wear long pants and boots to power wash my drive way, curbs, and sidewalk.

Welcome back, Gary!! We saved your rocker and the cooler is always full.

I think I'll cut a little grass this morning before calling it a day. Then, it's off to the pool...again. I'm getting the swing of this retirement thing. :D

Good morning all. A bit warmer this week so I need to be doing outside work earlier in the day. We trimmed back all the holly trees this weekend and there is a lot of yard waste bags for the collectors on Wednesday. I need to clean out the snow blower shed this week. We are also getting ready to redo some of the landscaping in the back yard. Trying to make everything as low maintenance as possible.

Well..... one of our critters has swelling and signs of snakebite - but not too severe, so must have been one of the little 12"snakes out of the wash. Will take her to the vet for a vitals exam but so far just the swelling and sleepy. We've seen two rattlesnakes in the last week so I know they are moving around. During monsoon times they move to higher ground. Does anyone know of a repellent other than the 22 shot shells I keep in my old gallery gun?
When I keep a "barrier" of bug spray outside the back fence ( Ortho Home Defense has worked for the bugs) - then no snake visits. Seems like when that has been kept up - the reptiles shy away. The chemicals they use these days tend to be based on plant base stuff that dogs and kids are immune to after it dries. Maybe it irritates their tongues and sense of smell. Is has been three months on the last spray application so I renewed the barrier yesterday. I hate to just rely on such flimsy evidence - but when the spray was out there and effective - our neighbors had problems and we didn't.

Couple suggestions for your dogs and venomous snakes. Take them to a pro for snake avoidance training. It works. Also in Az. They will train for Sonoran toad avoidance (a poisonous toad that the poison can kill a dog)
Also consider vaccinating your dogs with rattle snake vaccine. It works mainly for diamondback rattlers. When vaccinated the reaction to the venom is milder and the venom is neutralized. You still need to see a vet but chances of death or major complications are greatly reduced.
Also after a bite even if a “dry” bite, infection is always a significant concern.
My lab is a hunting dog and thus has lots of potential contact with snakes. I wouldn’t take him afield without him being vaccinated and without snake avoidance training.

Our two terriers have been to avoidance training - all they learned was to avoid snakes when wearing a shock collar..... They associate the collars with a need to behave as directed - otherwise, "party on"! The vet told me that at this point infection was the biggest concern and it would take a couple more days to know how that was going to turn out.

When I was a kid we had Beagles - the large size field dogs - and every so often one would get winged by a copperhead or rattler. Their heads would swell up and they would be tender for a while, but we never lost one.
