Smoke overcast. I'm sure it smells.

 

It stinks. If you leave your car parked outside for even 30 minutes it'll be absolutely covered in ash.

 

Damn. That's got to suck.

I just realized that Hurricane Andrew hit southern FL on this day in 1992. I was living south of Tampa during that time.

 

The ash is the worst. We're catching all the smoke from CA.

 

I think we lit you guys on fire too.

 

The majority of them are up in northern CA, same as last year. Think the drought has made them more susceptible in the last few years, plus they're getting hit with crazy dry lighting strikes this year. Which is unusual for CA

Yep, the fire was in Loyalton, which is just across the border. I was joking about how I could see California from here. The wind kicked up, and lit us on fire too.

An asteroid called 2018 VP1 is scheduled to zip past Earth on November 2, just one day before Americans will cast their vote for the next President of the United States. The asteroid's timing brings new meaning to the phrase "Rock the Vote."

"Asteroid 2018VP1 is very small, approx. 6.5 feet, and poses no threat to Earth!" NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office tweeted on August 23. "It currently has a 0.41 [percent] chance of entering our planet’s atmosphere, but if it did, it would disintegrate due to its extremely small size."​

 

With this year's luck it'll probably hit a nuclear powerplant or smack Yellowstone and trigger the super volcano

I did see the neowise comet last month though. Pretty neat. Will get to see it again in 7000 years or so.

We oughta see how good we are at hitting a moving target. And get rid of some of those out of date ICBM's from the 70's. That thing wouldve made a perfect target.
