Just bought my 4th Tacoma! Long-time lurker. Let the modding begin!

Hi Tacomaworld. My name is Jay and I grew up in Minnesota but have lived in Illinois since college.

I just bought my 4th Tacoma. My first was a used 1998 and it suffered the rusted frame fate - loved that truck. My second I bought new in 2010. It was an SR5 and the seats were so uncomfortable I sold it after a year. I tried a sports car for a year before buying a new loaded TRD Sport 4x4 in 2012. I had that truck for 8 years and 150,000 miles with no mechanical issues at all. That was an awesome truck but, unfortunately, my 16 year old son totaled the truck about 4 weeks ago (everyone is fine). This past Thursday, I picked up a new 2020 TRD Sport 4x4 DCLB in magnetic gray. Absolutely love the truck (except for the rear suspension, various chrome bits on the exterior, and lack of integrated garage door openers).

I have already started the modding process by adding an Extang Encore Tonneau Cover and Katzkin leather seats. My plans are new wheels with some 32-33 inch tires, new suspension with mild lift, get rid of the chrome - going with a blackout trim look, mild window tint, and a remote tailgate lock. I would really like to have the upgraded rearview mirror with the integrated garage door opener but i don't even know if that is a possible modificaiton.

Anyway, I will probably be asking some questions in the suspension section because I didn't lift my first three tacomas and I am a complete noob but I have spent countless hours researching so hopefully I will ask intelligent questions. Anyway, i thought I would introduce myself and say hi. After being a long time lurker on this site, I can say that it seems like a great community and I look forward to getting to know some of you and maybe seeing you at a meet someday.
