FYI to all owners or potential owners. I hated the flip up plate, so I switched it out with two of these...

I hated the flip up plate, because if it's in the up position and you lower the tailgate, you'll potentially fuck up your tailgate. Also, if you're towing and the plate is in the up position, it's almost impossible to read. With these magnetic brackets, you can stick the plate to anything that is metal. Lastly, you don't need to drill holes for the plate.

I am the Mobtown bumper owner referenced multiple times in this thread via picture and post. Yes, the clearance between the bumper and tailgate are tight on my early production bumper.

However, I'm OK with that... just have to remember to sweep off the top of the bumper when I've been hauling wood or gravel, before I drop the gate. I personally like the tight clearance... it looks great.

I ended up getting an 11” drop hitch for my Pelfreybilt bumper. Does that seem pretty reasonable? I’m riding on Dakars so maybe 2-3” of lift.

I think 7" was what I went with with the rci and 2"of lift

11" drop sounds huge for a Tacoma... but of course that's dependent on your lift height and the trailers tongue height. I'm no expert in the matter, but generally you want your trailer running level. So whatever drop hitch gets the trailer level, should be the correct one.

I got a 10" drop for mine and my lawnmower trailer still sits a tad nose high.

    Don't RV's drive themselves? ;)

I've only towed a small 1500 lb trailer.
