I checked the Coordinates for Hells creek - looks like a 'hard' section of the kat.
I don't trust the difficulty level... i've had easy hard shit and hard easy shit. I have had all sorts of shit :crapstorm:

That's how trails get overused and abused.

May sound like an ole boys club or elitist but that's how it seems to go.

i don't disagree. But that also dampens future growth and interest in the sport :notsure:

    Cock tease! Damnit lol
    What Brent said.

Enough of RRG has been swallowed by parks, landowners, and legislation. Maybe an in-person share, not publicly. Or source routes from the supporting groups/forums/clubs.

RRG is really frustrating for us to travel in too. It's all trailer park campgrounds and SxS's. Most tracks, like you said, have been swallowed by parks or private land. It's just no fun to navigate unless you do the DBBB.

For the 2 years i've been doing this, we've been exploring from Morehead down to Livingston inside the DBNF... Random Forest roads, county roads. Anything on Gaia that looks exciting. We'll frequently use the USGS maps to find Benchmarks, which usually end up being caves, arches, or other crazy natural formations. This is also a good resource http://kylandforms.com/
We're out there to push the envelope, explore, and see if we can get the truck stuck lol. We're always looking for "That perfect campsite".

And by we, i mean my gf, and two dogs. We're always out and about

There are some roads/trails you definitely shouldn't go alone, or at least have multiple self-recovery methods.

That's what I love most about it, you really never know what you'll get into.

I still want to do the Zachariah in its entirety

    The Zachariah?

And I agree - but about 50% of the time it's just us. We do have a few ways of recovery if shit hits the fan. Else, we're both in good shape and we better start walking haha.
For real though, we keep in comms with home and we're as safe as we can be.

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
The climb out is no joke of you run the trail up stream. We spent an evening winching and cutting trees to get out one night. Got back to camp at 1am. While beer slept @beertimecontinuum

I do the same. I'd like to go other states such as Utah, Colorado, etc. I hope to go out of state for off road sometime next year, maybe after winter. I need to get the bigger tires and lift first. I am considering to get 265 or 285 for tires. If I get 285, then I will get the lift done as well. I like the TRD wheels but I am considering to get aftermarket wheels... I'll see what I can do.

I will not work at the deck job site tomorrow morning because I have to take my dad to the dealership so he can sign the papers to get his new truck.. Or used truck.. not sure. I will look at it when I get there.

Then after that, I may be off or work for a few hours. I'll see.

Yeah. It's a "road" on Google Maps even.

Leave NW from Slade on 11, left on 1639, left on Sand Lick, go until pavement ends and keep going. It intersects the Zachariah trail. Which is also how you get to Widow Maker I think

    Rgr that!

Can't wait to get you out there

I think that bit if part of the DBBB now. I got to stump cave that way (not on DBBB) and that where I got my "door ding"

I'll be sure to let you guys know when we head out. We'd like to have company!

Fyi I'm looking at next weekend for some exploring!
