back when i bought my OR i had the opportunity to get some pro tail lights for a great price so i went for it. i ended up gifting the original OR lights to a friend of mine when one of his cracked. well i just got a little love tap from a truck at a stop light and now my right tail is busted. when the body shop replaces the light will insurance pay for the pro light or am i SOL because they will want to purchase a tail based off my VIN? thanks in advance

They probably won't even notice it doesn't have the original tail light until they order the stock OR replacement and find it's not the same as the other side. Especially if you're not using a Toyota dealer body shop.
I'd tell them up front and they will probably just have you pay the difference between the two.

If it’s the persons insurance who hit you, their adjuster needs to be told it’s aftermarket so the repair company can order the correct replacement. If it is your insurance company taking care of the damage, only your insurance company can tell you the answer.

If the at fault insurer gives you any shit show them the receipt for the tail lights problem solved.
