    You know, You guys really should be making more stuff for the 2nd-Gen Tacoma and not so much the 3rd-Gen.

    The 2nd-Gen ran from 2005 to 2015. The 3rd-Gen has only been on the market for 4 years. So it stands to reason that there are more 2nd-Gens out there than there are 3rd-Gens.

    Any marketing expert will tell you that when you are making a product you should target your biggest audience, which suggests that you would sell more 2nd-Gen stuff if you would just make it. And that translates into more revenue.

    I'm not saying to stop making stuff for the 3rd-Gen; just ramp up producing more 2nd-Gen products.

    I could agree with you except.
    • Most 2nd Gen owners have already moded their trucks.
    • 3rd Gens can are still bought an sold new. Untouched and un-moded. Blank canvases for the :spending:

    As much as it sucks to hear, the third-gen market is much larger. There are more and more third-gen owners every day so it makes sense to create products for them instead of second-gens. Same reason you don't see anything new coming out for first gens.

    edit: It's not even a competition anymore with how many third gen products we sell at Mobtown vs second gens. I'd probably guesstimate it's 65/35 towards third-gens.

    I'll only add that @MESO has a 3rd gen so it has to be easier to make products for a truck you can test fit them for :notsure:

    And isn't MESO a one-man band anyway? He could expand, but thats a whole other level of running a business when you have to support other people - especially in our current economic situation.

    The market drives itself, if there is a demand then people will bring it to market. There is obviously more money to be made on 3rd gen product.

    He needs to ramp up production of 3rd gen accessories before focusing on 2nd gen. Almost all interior mods are out of stock, and have been for some time. People must be putting those government stimulus checks to good use.

    Among folks from West Virginia, "Motown" is short for Morgantown. It has nothing to do with Detroit. :)

    When I initially saw this reply I had no idea what you were talking about, until this vvvvv



    I meant Mobtown, as in Mobtown offroad. The second gen sales pale in comparison to third gen. The third gen market is much larger.

    Hey guys,
    Thanks for all the input and feedback. For the 3rd gens, I’ve got (most) of my designs and products dialed. Now it’s just focusing on Ramping up production To meet demand. In the meantime I am slowly shifting over to other models (2nd gen, 4runner, tundra) and starting to make some goodies for those owners. I do all the design and prototyping myself... so bare with me. A product takes time from concept to reality.
