Has anyone had any trouble with a random popping sound? I’m thinking tie rod or a bushing somewhere. Hope y’all can help with this.
    Thanks

    Need more info.

Could be the u joints in your driveshaft, CV joints, ball joints, or even a piece of gravel stuck in your brake / brake dust shield or tire tread. What part of the truck is the noise coming from? Does it happen when turning or all the time? Is it cyclical or random?

I have a clunking, that could be described as popping, when steering at slow speed. Pretty sure it's the intermediate drive shaft. I used to get a horrible sound that might be described as popping when the front suspension articulated. My LCA bushings were seized, so the arms got replaced. Every year or two I get an alignment and have them pull the hardware, and slather it with anti-seize. My body mount bushings make a popping noise so regularly I don't even notice it most of the time. That one is definitely a popping sound.

Does it do it when you change between going forwards and reverse the second you tap the brake? If it's that, it's the brake pads adjusting around the retaining pins.

I only mention that because I noticed it and couldn't figure it out. If you're on a 3in lift though, you might check your CVs? CVs will pop when they start going out.

I have a popping sound coming from my front driver side. No lift.

It happens when going over a bump while turning left with the front driver side tire going over the bump first. There's a bump on my way to work that I can hit and it will pop every time. I put a gopro under there and verified it's not hitting the bump stop.

From the limited research I've done from reading on here, people advise to verify all suspension components are tight.

I have a 3rd gen suspension sitting in my garage to be put on. I'm curious to see if that doesn't fix it or allow for tightening of something to fix it.

OP @John4x4SR5 DM'd me that he had a lift installed and the popping started happening after the lift.

Show us some images of said lift and of your CV axles. A better description of where the popping is coming from and maybe some audio/ video of the sound.
