I was the original poster of this question. I ended up putting my camera under the front bumper - through the hole in the center.
I just got that bracket for 20. I want to mount it higher and I hope I have enough wire to move it up. There seems to be no directions online. I can post a pic once I get the bracket and then I can show it mounted. I have the Nakita camera installed .....

I put mine in the grill like others here, best thing ever- especially useful for cresting a steep hill and seeing what’s ahead on the trail below the hood! Sort of like Rover’s invisible hood...

Can we get more photos along with camera used? I just got a nakita wd-007k and trying to figure where best to mount it as it does not fit neatly in the 2018 cheese grill.

I had it on the underside of the bumper looking up. Basically you had a good view of the road but there was a dark line above it which was the top of the bumper.

So I got the bracket from Yoda LED and the install is straight forward. Because I have the Nikita camera I found out that the screw length of the camera is too short to go in the slot directly above the Toyota emblem.

So I'm going to go to the neighborhood true value in rummage through nuts and bolts to see if I can extend the thread so I can stick a washer on the back. Essentially the length of the camera thread is exactly the length where the washer needs to be. Any handy people that can give me some advice here, let me know. I might just get a double-threaded rod or something. The fun continues...

So I moved my cam from under the bumper into the grill using the bracket and some fitting that allowed me to extend the screw on the nakita.

The camera is good quality image and has a very tiny connection. I wanted to show a pic of that.

This install is easy and no need to remove the grill or drill... IMG_20200825_175435.jpg IMG_20200825_175512.jpg IMG_20200825_180547.jpg IMG_20200825_181515.jpg IMG_20200825_193436.jpg IMG_20200825_200432.jpg IMG_20200825_182943.jpg

Yes, if my truck came with it (It’s a 2017), But I think it’ll fit on yours the same way also.

I put mine right under the front license plate, the plastic holder works great and no damage to truck. Perfect view also, I was really surprised.

I thought about that but it seems like it will be an easy mark while wheeling but perhaps that is an unfounded fear.

Ziggy, where’d you get that fitting!? Trying to use this nakita and yotaled mount and the screw is too short! Struggling to find a reach nut that doesn’t sit flush on the washer so there’s a way to tighten down.

Hardware store. No clue what it was. Seemed to be some metric fitting allowing to be screwed on the back of the camera and allowing it to be used as a washer

Thanks, guys! I fiddled with several different fasteners and discovered a similar tee nut this morning at the local hardware store. Unfortunately they didn’t have the tee nut with the extended barrel. Had to get it special ordered. I’ll post some photos once I get it all mounted up.

So for anyone interested, here’s a pic of the long barreled pronged t-nut next to the standard one I bought. In my case, I needed it to reach through the washer to screw onto the natika camera thread while the prongs push into the washer to hold it in place behind the grill.

    Hello,

I know it's been a while but would happen to have the link to the special ordered long barreled pronged t-nut? I am also using the same camera and I have the same grill. They did not make it easy for us lol

    Thank you!
