So i used the Rock n' Roll Gold Lube last night, I haven't ridden my bike but 3 times and decided to give it a whirl. First time lubing or cleaning a bike chain.

Gotta say this stuff seems to work really well, but I of course can't get the inner of the chain shining like the out, but both the front and rear gears are clean. I used a brush for gears and lubed chain well and used an old rag while cycling the chain backwards.

I do have this kit I'll probably use once every 100 miles or so.

    not enough.
Yeah, putting an exo+ in the rear will definitely feel better than a DH casing in the rear. :/ Just need to wear out the front a tiny bit more before i switch it all up. might also be a godo chance to try the new tannus armour tubeless inserts.

yeah, the park tool cleaner works pretty damn well. I use a degreaser and spray it into the chain as i pedal backwards. strip it completely. then i wash and clean it all good. Then I lube. I seem to do it about once a week or so depending on how much i've ridden so far. (I tend to ride almost every day.)

One thing you want to make sure of is that the chain has no more cleaner/ degreaser on it before applying the lube. When I use that tool I will use whatever cleaner (park tool, muc off, or soap and water) then go heavy with a degreaser until it looks dry. You might need to wait a few minutes. Other wise any remaining cleaner will eat the lube.

Idk about you but I easily notice how a well lubed chain rides so much better than a dirty one!

I didn't clean it with that parktool kit yet.
Reading rock'n roll gold lube you clean the gears with a brush and chain with a rag really well, then apply the lube thoroughly and then use a rag again and spin the chain vigorously and the dirt is suppose to come out. Supposedly they market gold as a "cleaning lube" ??

I’ve been through a lot of iterations on cleaning and lubing chains. My current preferred method is to clean with dish soap, warm water, and a brush. Then lube with a few drops of NixFrixShun. It’s been the best for keeping my drivetrain clean and running quietly in my mostly dry and dusty climate.

I haven’t used rock n roll in a while but that could be true, I remember it being very thin so that would make sense to help it with cleaning.

What I said only really applies if you are applying a separate cleaner to your chain prior to lubricating it.

HA! I know, I know. Been busy and this week isn't any better. Bunch of guys are quarantined until they get test results back so we're covering other areas, etc.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that!

A few have tried the DPX2, said it made the bike a bit wallowy. I haven't run it, and am actually super happy with the DPS. Yeah, it gets hot and starts to get stiff on long descents, but that's not really how it's meant to be ridden. If I ever replace it, it'll be with a Cane Creek DB IL Coil.
I just recently swapped the 150 Lyrik for a 2021 Fox 34 E-bike fork @ 140. I actually think it's a better fork. Smoother, better small bump compliance, better ramp up, no change in stiffness. The new 34 comes with the new Grip2 w/VVC damper that's on the 36/38. Being the eBike version means it's definitely stiff enough.
All RS forks also suck down a bit, so the 150 Lyrik was sitting almost completely level to the 140 Fox 34 at sag.

Ah yikes, doesn't sound like much fun.
A few of our shop guys have had positive tests, none of our field guys yet. Couple projects shut down for varying amounts of time but everything's up and running now.

If you want, I can just leave the bars out at my place. Come pick them up when it's convenient for you. If not - No rush, they aren't going anywhere.

Finally got a new rear tire in. Been eyeing Vittorias for a while and found this 2.6 Agarro rear with the anthracite sidewalls for about $50. Certainly not the bombproof tire I think I’m looking for but it cures the curiosity bug.

I’ve got 2 hotrod mounts as well as a driveshaft (locking) Mount that work great in the bed rails. Asking $40 shipped each for the hotrods and 60 shipped on the driveshaft.

I have the 2020 lyrik and it does the 10mm sag as you mentioned. For $42 I can buy the “upgrade” kit to fix it. Annoying as hell but I’ll just do it once it’s time to replace the wipers and seals. Otherwise, I’ve been happy compared to the 36 elite fit4 damper fox I was riding before.

It’s been 98° here daily for over a week and two weeks of smoke filled skies. Not much riding lately. Today I drove up to 7,500 feet to escape those temps and smoke. I lucked out, it was 72° up there with not much smoke in the air. It rained mid ride but cleared out in a half hour. A good day but not much in the way of dirt riding. More of a bike path cruise. Felt awesome to hit those temps after baking for so long though.

I feel like the high has been 98 or 99 all month here! I started riding early mornings this year and it’s growing on me. Unfortunately most of my friends aren’t morning peeps so I usually ride alone which I don’t mind. Not only does it help beat the heat but also avoid the crowds.
