My uncle got hit by a car when he was a kid on his bike. They didn't recognize then what we refer to as his quirks now. Traumatic brain injuries and even concussions can be fucking serious. I hope you do a bunch of fucking tests and go after that dirtbag for all sorts of procedures to ensure your son has the best care that is offered to treat only the mildest scratches and everything else your might see as necessary.


I've worked with a few kids with a TBI and it's pretty heartbreaking to see a kid that once had it all going right now has something that misses and he can't figure it out.

I also know a guy who did a whip it and fell out of the chair on to a concrete floor and has had some effects from that ever since. He was 13

I put mine on the bottom of the trans case with zero issues and I assume a correct temp. Same for the rear diff and rear shocks. Shiny surfaces effect the laser beam type of temp guns.

 

Tire experts, what happened here? Tire has approx. 5500 miles on it. Light came on, no noise. Pulled over ASAP and tire carcass removed itself in a right hand turn (LF tire) off the main road. No real rim damage as can be seen and most of the tire rim is in place on the rim. The hole is odd.

2020 Toyota Corolla. 5500 miles on car and tires. Recently checked tire pressures and all checked out.

 

not an expert, but it looks like you hit something that started the destruction of the tire. That gash is what stands out to me.

 

Looks like a big sidewall puncture and then the right turn made the entire tread/parallel to the ground section split off the sidewalls and fall off.

Low profile tires suck.

 

The solution is... 35's or GTFO.

From my time working at a tire shop, it’s rare to see a full ring of tread stay intact during a failure like that. What brand is it?

 

No issues except the tire sensor was lit/off for several weeks. We've been checking it and it's been right at 31psi just like every other tire. Until it gave out, we didn't know which sensor was giving off the low psi signal. Again, no tires were low, ever. She was traveling approx. 40-45mph right before it happened. She likely travels less than ⅛ of a mile between the 'event' and coming to a complete stop. Said the light came on, the car got "wiggly", she turned off and pulled over. Carcass left tire during right hand turn.

I'm wondering if the tire separated inside and was interfering with the tire pressure sensor.

 

That's what I was thinking. Not sure what brand. I also wouldn't expect so much internal damage in such a short period from full PSI to no PSI. As said above, likely less than 1/8th mile.

I'm actually concerned that one of the other three will eventually fail exactly the same way but at speed.
