    Searched and found nothing.
Some chart on 3rd gen forum claims the OEM roof rack bolts are oddball sizes, like 19.7mm or something.

Question is, for those of you who bought aftermarket, did you use those bolts?
Or did you find stainless steel replacements at a hardware store?

If the size really does include 19.7mm, I imagine buying a new bolt would then require it to be cut down to size and maybe ground flat at the end, before chasing the thread with a chaser or tap/die to make sure it's functional before installing.

I ask because supposedly whatever hardware kit comes with $100 "OEM" style racks (Amazon, eBay, etc.) is weak torx bits that strip easily and rust fast.

Seems like it could be a good idea to find/match with some higher quality stainless hardware, before installing, so it lasts long (10 years) without rust

Yes i bought an OEM a while back and the do strip very easily, you could probably go to Lows and get better ones. But then again you aren't suppose to put a lot of torque on those bolt in the first place.

Just buy some bolts that are the closest size down, like 18mm length or something, even 20 (the extra 0.3 mm is negligible). Your overthinking it

I ended up buying ones that were "close enough" e.g. 20mm length and 16mm length instead of the specified OEM lengths. The biggest issue for me has been finding the Pivot Hinge Screw bolt assemblies for the swing arm components... I'm working on trying to track that stuff down now.

Here's a parts list from another forum post:

    19.7mm is 0.7755906”
    3/4” is .75”

The difference is around 1/38th of an inch.

Whatever size you use - don’t forget to use Teflon tape and a healthy dollop of silicone on each bolt when you put it in else it will leak
