You do not need new UCAs at 2" of lift. It is recommended with 2.5", but still probably not required.

As for the rear lift, I would highly advise a new leaf pack if you can afford it. You'll be happier in the long run. Many people (myself included) went the AAL route to start and then later replaced it with a full leaf pack.

 

Agreed, UCA's will help alignment but not required. As for the rear leafs are basically a wear item so they'll always need to be replaced eventually

 

What would you recommend for long term use. I rather buy something that is going to last longer rather than having to replace a part consistently.

 

The OME Dakar leaf pack seems to be the gold standard. Just know that there is a high probability that they will squeak at some point. They updated the dakar pack about 3-4 years ago (IIRC) from the CS047R to the EL095R (or 096 for the HD pack)(again, IIRC). The EL pack included plastic separators that were designed to eliminate the squeak. The success of that is hit or miss as several of the EL packs still squeak.

Deaver is another that I would look into.

For cost, performance, and availability reasons, I went with the Dakar pack for myself.

 

i ran about 2.5-3” of lift and 35” tires with stock uppers. It was a rougher ride which I didn’t mind. Did that for 18k miles till I bought JBA UCAs and now the ride really smooth. So you don’t “have” to get UCAs just recommend for a better ride.

 

I was literally gonna ask you your opinion on this when I come see you for my CMC when I get my 33's next week. I'm probably gonna switch to JBAs too after riding on stock ones like you did.

 

I'm kind of leaning toward a set of JBAs myself.

 

I am selling my JBAs nothing wrong with them. I really like the way the feel on the truck. I am getting SPCs to get more adjust ability out of them to hopefully allow me to fit 37s with limited firewall tubing.

If those JBAs are still available let me know . I've been eyeing those for a year plus now.

leafs too from what I hear. I got one of their heavy sets just waiting to install. Before that I was looking at the Deaver stage II's. Deaver definitely has great leafs.
