One program to rule them all....

Need your Uplay, Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Epic Games, Amazon Games, Rockstar Games... Then there's games that have their own launcher like EVE, WoT, War Thunder, blah blah blah

Going to do research as well, but was going to pick up 2 140mm fans for the case for the front and move the two 120 for the rear.

Any suggestions for the fans? Seems you can't go wrong with Noctua

The HDMI would be for consoles so not to worried on the HDMI specs as of now... especially since it's a PS3 currently lol.

    PC would be displayport

I feel like that's the one I read bout but don't overly remember. Like you I wasn't super interested in the actual product with only 8gb of ram and the storage size is meh. One of those I read about it but not to much.

If they sold a 16GB/256 GB model for $100 more I'd be all over it but apparently it's limited to 8GB ram by Intel for some asinine reason.

It also doesn't help that supposedly a 4000 series Ryzen is pretty close to it for battery life without any sacrifices it makes. Intel needs to get 5 or 7nm figured out pronto.

I want at least 500gb. But I use laptops more for traveling and in areas of no service so end up keeping movies/YouTube videos on ie.is that the current mobile 4000 or do you mean the upcoming stuff?

And why did amd have to mess up their actually decent naming by not having mobile and desktop in the same naming scheme

The recently dropped 4000 series laptop parts. Linus has a video out where he gets damn near 14 hours (IIRC) out of a Ryzen 7 in a HP two in one that only costs about $800. It was his first recommendation on a machine under $1K in years.

Yeah, it's a real shame they make the laptop part numbers one generation ahead of what they should be.

    Noctua is the brand.

I have the Meshify C case that (I think) you have.
I have two intake 140mm on the front, two exhaust 120mm on top, and one 120mm rear exhaust.

Go with Arctic. Much cheaper than Noctua at a fraction of the price.

Arctic aren't bad if you're on a tight budget but you get what you pay for.

Noctua is great, but I've had great luck with Arctic. He should be fine. I actually haven't used a Noctua fan in a while. Some of the newer Corsair stuff is all people want since it looks a lot better and the performance is pretty much on par. Noctua is still better in a general role but it's not a large gap anymore and in some specific cases Corsair actually makes better fans for the job.

I mean, I have cheap ass Coolermaster SickleFlow 120's in my PC that have been running nearly 24/7 for almost 10 years and Arctics are much better than those.

I'm not sure what you're getting more of than an ugly fan that's almost double the cost.

Noctua fans move about the most amount of air for their noise level. So if you want the most air for the lowest noise level they're in the conversation as the best fan that does that. The problem is that Noctua fans are still just a bearing fan, though they do use a unique sealing method that lasts as long or longer than anything else. Magnetic levition fans, as well as some new fluid dynamic models, are quieter by nature and can hit a higher range of speeds due to better stability. What it all means is that while you can count on Noctua as a great fan that's quiet and will last, they've been passed by in some ways as the best air movers, quietest design, and longest lasting fans. For example if I want a high performance air mover I'm going with the Corsair ML series over a Noctua fan. If I don't need the high-end though the Noctua is actually cheaper.

How dare you say that Noctua is ugly.

    Noctua brown isn't ugly

Noctua has non-brown fans available. They're double the cost because again, you get what you pay for.
The build quality, warranty, customer service, and performance. They also prove over and over to be the quietest fans out there.
They get hyped for a reason and live up to it.

I challenge you to run a Corsair ML fan at about 200-300 rpm higher than a Noctua of the same type. The ML is quieter and will last longer since there are no load bearing contact parts within the bearing itself. People often think of the MLs as loud but that's because they run almost 700 rpm faster at the same voltage due to their almost frictionless bearing design (maglev).

A lot of Noctua hype is like Arctic Silver 5 hype. Old and outdated. Still works good though.

Ah I guess that makes sense. I'm 100% utilitarian when it comes to my builds. No windows, no RGB, no silence. If it's ugly as sin and sounds like a jet engine, it's working.

There's nothing like the whine of a dead bearing in a cheap fan lol.

Speaking of fans. My favourite part is when someone runs quiet af case fans but their CPU Cooler is like a friggin jet engine.

I think I hear my CPU and GPU fans more than my case fans  it’s hard to tell though.
One of these days (maybe after I upgrade my GPU) I need to get a decent pair of headphones with a mic, I’m using my secondary monitor for audio and it’s aggravating having the side light when playing FPS games in the dark.
