I've read suspension articles until I am cross-eyed. Time to help an old guy out. I have a 2017 TRD off road. I have decided that my goal is threefold. Improve overall handling, limited lift ( 2 inches) and not break the bank. I would like to keep the budget around 1k.

Bilstein 5100’s are very popular and better than spacer lifts. Tons of info on them on this site. 4 shocks ( 400$) set at 1.75 will raise ur front for a level look. If you want some lift in the back do a AAL ( will raise the rear 1.5” or so). You can also get some ome springs and set the billies at “0” setting and achieve lift. Again, tons of info on here and guys more knowledgeable than me.

AALs are a a budget-friendly option, but they do not last long if you plan on using your truck as a truck. The stock Toyota leaf packs are and will be the lowest common denominator.

A new leaf pack, with the intentions of using your truck as such, will be the best solution.

OME is a good, budget kit that will include almost everything you need.

Bilstein 6112/5160 and a progressive AAL (three leaf) probably more like 1,300 dollars, but the 6112 is super beefy! 2.65" body is impressive, and you pay for what you get! For a couple of hundred bucks more you will be impressed.

We have a winner. centurion, Bilstein 6112/5160 and a progressive AAL. Now for pricing and availability search.. Is there anything else that I should add? Drop kit, etc. And does any AAL (three leaf) stand out above the others? And thank you to all who have responded.

I recommend Bilstein 5100's (or better) and 887 OME springs up front.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
That leaf pack will still be prone to sagging over time because you're adding it to the stock Tacoma pack.

Not the end of the world. Just putting it out there.
