Got stuck in some mud last weekend by the lake. Buried the truck to the skid plate, took a few hrs to get pulled out.. as I was driving away I heard a slight knock, so I pulled over, popped the hood, and checked the oil. Bone dry! So I had the truck towed to a buddies shop and he’s telling me the bottom end is toast. So a cpl options:

1.) buy a remaned bottom end with a 7 year/$1700 labor warranty and have installed for around 7k with about a month turn around time

2.) swap in an ls for around the same price but have no warranty and maybe have problems down the road, But maybe only $700 for a new ls motor with what could be months on a turn around

I use this truck for mosty camping/ hauling jet ski, and 4x4. It’s the weekend warrior. My buddy said the book calls for 24hr build time bc u have to pull the trans (which isn’t terrible bc my reverse is going out)..

anyways, I’m on the fence. Maybe some input can help sway me, thanks
