Can’t go wrong with X2. My 24F is doing great! Will test it camping this weekend. I tried using the code for a Duracell for the wife’s LC and it worked. Figured some people might want the option.

Ordered, picked up and installed yesterday. Mine will end up being $275 for a 27F after all the dscounts and rebates. Bout a 100 dollar savings. Most of which is going towards an HKB voltage booster

 

Have you thought about trying the fuse/diode mentioned earlier in this thread? Pretty cheap and seems to work

 

Yeah I read the whole other thread last night. I had heard the talk of needing a voltage boooster on AGM batteries, but thought it only applied to third gen. I'm going for plug nd play, although that might change if it takes 18 weeks to ship.

 

The voltage boost options you guys are talking about are for 2nd gens. 3rd gens cant use them since our trucks are controlled by the ECU... OVtune has found the ECU tables and so it can be adjusted with the tune for a much higher cost than the options for 2nd gens.

Purchased my 27f using auto20 discount code on 8/21. Sent rebate in. You need receipt and picture of UPC from your battery for the rebate. Also, bought 2nd gen battery tray since stock one isn't the proper size. No need to buy new j hooks as stock ones fit.

Here is the part number for the battery tray if anyone needs it. It's about $37

Rear J-hook on a 2nd gen (2015) isn't long enough without lifting the handle on the 27f battery...

 

I was afraid of that. Booooo! Now I have to shell out another 80 bucks to make it mount clean...at least it'll be sexy while it sits there...

 

I wasn't planning on buying an AGM battery yet, but $286 (including tax, after core fee refund and $20 rebate) for a top-of-the-line 27F AGM battery is tough to beat. I received my wide/adjustable battery tiedown from @Coupe earlier this week, so now all I have to do is wait for my HKB 0.5V fixed booster to arrive from Aus.

 

I had a local GM dealer order the $5 diode mentioned earlier in this thread (YouTube video), and I expect it early next week.

 

I know there are cheaper options, but wanted to minimize failure potential with a plug-and-play part. I followed the recommendations made by @crashnburn80 in his excellent AGM battery thread.

The GM diode option is still PNP (with some plastic filing first), it's just not variable.

 

I’m going this route too. If it doesn’t work I’m only out 5 bucks so it’s worth the shot to me. I ordered 2 just in case I mess the first up modifying it haha.

 

I may be mistaken, but don't 3rd gens need some sort of ECU programming to change the alternator charging voltage?
