If you have 22k miles on a 6 year old truck the extended performance does you no good as you should change it at 15k miles or 1 year, whichever comes first

Im a diva and change my oil every 4k miles using mobil 1 (i dont care which one as long as its mobil 1 5w30) i drive alot of highway miles but my truck is a 2012 with 74k miles. Mobil 1 is the best oil in many of our opinions and has nothing but great reviews. Plenty of YouTube videos out there. Check out tje camry that used mobil 1 since it was built. After 500,000 miles, they tore the engine apart and the internals looked brand new

Why are you telling me this? I’m just telling OP that the extended blend isn’t worth the extra $0.20 for his use case.

Everyone should just post one of these threads all at the same time so we can collectively get it out of our system. Or maybe a pledge should be required of new users not to post these threads.

It cracks me up that 80% of every oil thread is people complaining about oil threads.

Change your oil at the manufacturer specified interval. Use oil. The end.

If you're changing your oil every 4k miles, you're throwing your money away.

the worst thing most driver endeavor is falling victim to marketing

most SAE oil techs would advise AGAINST changing brands & types

    get 1......buy ! ..........Stick with That ONE (1) !!!!!!!

otherwise its entirely possible to end up with swill in Ur sump

Not ALL of the additives constitute themselves with other polymers & additives

after turning that corner many keep changing & adding

    making matters worse

    good intentions BAD MOVES!!!!!!

to each their own I guess. I rebuild engines every single day (my occupation) and you wouldn’t believe how many i see with problems from lack of changing and or using poor quality oil. Synthetic oil is just man made oil with cleaning additives in it. I will never follow that “once a year oil change “ or change it every 10/15k miles. Its just a preference!

under the worst conditions diesel engine place the worst engine factors on a motor

many diesel engine manufacturers are recommending Synth il changes 15-30k miles

they easily go 1 million & more miles

many are warranted up to 750000 miles

many are NOT awre that millions of cars ......trucks ......motorcycles
were manufactured with NO OIL FILTER !!!!!

thusly resulted in the rule o thumb ........wives tale supported

    ' change every 3000miles '

    with tolerances closer

less ' Blow By ' which contaminated oil in the sump
accumulated uppee cylinder with substantial carbon build up ( sump oil being burned upper cylinder )

many still stick to th 3ooo mile change
doesnt help..............only thing it hurts is the pocketbook no matter type oil used
