Don’t use that mobile 1 in the tcase. I’d recommend oem or redline.

I use that in both differentials and transfer case and nothing bad happen. I have 93,000 miles on it and the only problem I have is when I fart after I eat papaya salad with fermented shrimp paste, it makes the seat smell funny for about 3 hours.

    but.. why?

OP: I think the manual technically calls for 75W-85 LT oil or whatever in the diffs. But 75W-90 in all three will be fine. Got almost 25k mi since my 60k service and nothing has blown up yet

New crush washers would be recommended. Also loosen the fill plugs before the drain plugs, especially on the front diff. May need some PB blaster and extra time on that one.

I like Mobile 1 products but these transfer cases don't seem to like it. Heard of numerous issues with synchro degradation, hard to shift into and out of 4wd. Now I guess it could have been the user or just bad luck. But for me, I put some MTL in there and not look back

I've had the opposite happen. Used M1 in my transfer case and shifting into and out of 4wd has gotten better...

hah, well maybe the oil has less to do with it and it’s luck of the draw.

I buy a 5 gallon bucket of 80w90 and use it on all. 360k miles no problems.

For God's sake, put some Teflon tape on your drain and fill plugs before you reinstall them. I always do this and have never had a plug give me a lick of trouble, getting them out.

I noticed on Amsoil's website they had a diagram comparing gear lubes and Mobil1 did poorly in really cold weather. Maybe those issues have to do with the climate zones the users were in?
