I just traded my 09 TRD Prerunner in on a pristine 10 SR5 Prerunner, 59k actual mileage, one owner so obviously I couldn't pass it up.
My 09 had 17" wheels while the 10 has 16', Im going to put some nice 17" black mags on it but my question is how big of a tire can I get away with?
I don't mind re calibrating the speedo, I just don't?t want anything rubbing.

On an 2007 I had 265/70-17's which were 31.61" in diameter and 10.43" wide. The truck was leveled but not lifted. I had no rubbing and no problems.

On an 2014 I have 265/65-18's which are 31.56" in diameter and 10.43" wide. This truck is leveled and lifted 2". Again, no rubbing and no problems.

I've read I can go to a 33" diameter tire without a problem. I'm getting ready to buy a new set of tires and, as a minimum, they are going to be 265/70-18's which will be 32.61" in diameter and 10.43 wide. What I'd really like to put on are a set of 275/70-18's which would be 33.16" in diameter and 10.83" wide. Again, this would be on a truck lifted 2" with stock wheels and offset.

The only area I can see any potential issues with the larger tire may be between the inside of the tire and the stock UCA. I have a set of 1.250" spacers if need be. I also can't really tell if the tire will hit the "cab" in the front wheel-wells on a lock-to-lock turn.

To help the OP and me, does anyone have any experience with tire diameters up larger than 32.5" and up to 33.25" on a Gen 2 with generally stock suspension but stiffer coil-overs up front and an AAL in the back (~2" of left)?
