Seeing if anyone has experience selling a car to someone financing the purchase. The kink in the plan is my Jeep is at a friend's in colorado and I'm in texas. I thought I would just be able to send them the title if it gets sold, but does anyone know if there's special steps to the process? Thanks

It will be Carvana for me when the time comes.

I've thought about selling my '06 since I don't drive it much anymore, but all the scams, fake cashiers checks, low ballers, idiots, etc. have turned me against a private party sale.. and I really don't want to check 10k in folding money with a marker.
People being people, scams, etc. ruined it for me. Too bad really.. someone could've had a good deal on a perfect truck. :annoyed:

The buyer should be giving you a bank cashiers check from the financing company, you want to make sure the check actually clears before you sign over the title. With as many scams as exist and the ease of faking cashiers checks I would ask your bank what you should do to protect yourself.

^^^This. I know a guy who sold a Duramax to a man with a cashiers check and turns out it was fake. Even though his bank cashed it, it ultimately fell on him him and he has no truck and no money.

After 5 people either ghosted or tried low-balling me too much I decided I'm just keeping it and building it up to be the rock crawler I always wanted and that the taco could never be. Thanks for the help though.
