Original head gasket on an older engine (~230k miles) was slowly going bad. When things slowly fail. Other things fail. Replaced all internals on the top end, timing chain, seals, etc... Didn't get the heads leveled/ shaved. Just did gaskets, timing etc. Ran perfect for the first week. Slowly over the next week, the engine started getting worse. ~15min for the engine to run rough and warm up. Then ran fine. All torque specs were met. I rechecked everything over and over. 4 times took her down. Eventually realized there was compression issues in 2 cylinders. Shop wanted over 800 to shave the heads. Multiple local shops were giving me the same range in pricing with a month or more turn around time. I have to pull then engine to work on the lower end to replace piston rings anyways. Got a rebuilt (0 mile 2 year warranty) engine for ~$2500. Instead of dealing with the gremlins in the lower end and compression issues. I'm swapping out the old. Then shipping it out to RED to have it Darton sleeved and BC lower end ‍♂️

That way I can have a working engine and get around town while the other is being worked on.

Screw those hook mounts though. they want ~$100 for the pair. I am getting the OTC Leveler bar for half that.

Enough about me though. Hows yours running?

I can almost say with certainty that this pan will not fit with the JFR ypipe. But that does look like a damn nice pan.

D'oh. Might have to make a special request or drive out to have @Roostfactor to have it mocked up to fit the pan when it's my turn.

@Murphinator @Lucario Runner the quality of the casting and machining almost looks better than the JDM Trust/greddy pans that were available for Nissans if you've seen those, not as detailed on the fins of course.

will not be easy, its pretty tight. As awesome as the pan is I honestly think it'll be one or the other.

Hey @12TRDTacoma you mentioned that you'd had an issue with your Fleetrunner serpentine replacement, did you ever figure that out or just switched back to a stock belt? I've been using the green Fleetrunner for a couple of weeks now and it seems fine. Although with my smaller alternator pulley, Mike Singer recommended a belt that was 1/2" shorter than stock, and it so looks like the Fleetrunner belt is technically about that much shorter than our stock belts.
