I'm looking at putting some 33" tires on my 4 cylinder. Do you think re-gearing is necessary?

I'm not doing any heavy offroad, just dealing with dirt/gravel roads.

All depends on the performance (or lack of) you can put up with. Is your 4cyl gutless now? Going up to 33s won't make it better.

I’ve got 4c with 33’s and a 2.5” lift on the front and 2.5” in the rear, got enough nut for me, I haul wood and hay all the time. I can’t see any need to rear gears unless your going proper off road, but I’m not an off-road guy, just looks nice...

Currently running 33’s on my 2.7cyl, running 5.29 gears. Feels just like a stock Tacoma, truck has no hesitation at all. I can manage a steady 50mph in 4th gear between 22-2500 rpm depending on flat or incline. I’ll usually get it into 5th gear if I need to go above 60, but I don’t ever see 60mph during my daily driving.
