thats where it sounds like it’s coming from - almost like the rubber is “breaking in”. Seems like the bolts are tight as there isn’t any play, but I could be wrong. Will keep the thread updated as I figure it out!

I had bilstein 4600s installed a while ago and developed a creaky sound going over speed bumps, dips in road like a rusty door hinge sound emanating from the coil spring area somewhere only passenger side, i read a thread here about front end creaking some dude says spray the top rubber isolator between the isolator and metal mount area with the spray can straw and a lot of silicone, it was a miracle stopped the creaking. probably need a new isolator or the placement of the isolator isn't correct to where when the coil spring reflexes and rubs against the metal mount somewhere, right now im enjoying the noise not there, was like a rusty hinge creaking

I don’t think there should be that kind of play in the UCA

yeah, that’s exactly what it sounds like. Mine seems like it’s coming from the suspension, but it’s possible that it’s a body mount. Kinda sucks to have it on a brand new truck, but it is what it is! I’ll probably take it in to the dealer soon to have it fixed.

Well, went to the dealership today. Dropped the tech off and showed him the first video. We went outside and I showed him in person the noise. Truck was there for 6-7 hours and they called... said they tightened everything down to spec and then they couldn’t recreate the sound. I thought maybe they solved the sound by tightening everything down.

this is the truck after I picked it up. Unreal.

That sucks man. Definitely not right. I’ve got 14k on my pro already. Taken it off road a few times and never heard anything like that.

Take it back. Wouldn’t leave until it’s fixed. Release your inner Karen. I did when they left a giant black mark on mine from the free oil change.

“Release your inner Karen” just made me lol.

If I were the manager of the store, I’d be embarrassed that his techs said they couldn’t recreate it - but oh well. I don’t have any faith in that dealership anyways. Fortunately, a good friend of mine owns a Toyota dealership about an hour away. I was avoiding taking it there thinking this was a simple fix, but apparently not. Gonna take it to them and let it get resolved correctly!

I’ll keep the thread updated. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes that this is metal on metal from the body mount - especially after watching the video in the thread linked in this one. Sounds very similar.

Well, got it all figured out for anyone following along. The boot on the front strut was deformed. They replaced the strut and all is good - it’s quiet as a church mouse. Glad to have the noise gone and the taco back in action!!
