Cruised in from Colorado to visit my daughter in Havelock this past week. She works at Fish Hut Grill in Emerald Isle, where she treated me to a most tasty Mahi Mahi sandwich with a water melon margarita. Owners John and Sara let us borrow their surf boards so we headed down to the pier.

She recently acquired the 3rd gen wheels for her 2002 3.4L Manual. She runs the tube doors during the summer. She is looking forward to driving on the beach in a couple of weeks. What a wonderful daughter and a great day!

I ain't from round here. It's pulled pork, and it's going to make kickass tacos!

BBQ is a category, not a specific meat. And it damn sure ain't a verb.

BBQ is a noun in NC, and it ain’t NC BBQ unless it’s pork.

I can agree with you on BBQ being a noun.
If you were taking a test you would have missed that question.

I’m a born and raised Cackalackian.
It’s pee-can, not pee-con. My grandpa always said “it’s pee-can, boy. You don’t go to the store and buy a con of Coke, do you?”

No one understands the South's battles of BBQ suaces and meats and what is and isn't BBQ.

I've come to grips with ya'll infiltrating NC with that briscuit mess since you can get hog down there. As long as no one calls grilling a bunch of hamburgers BBQ I'm good. I remember the first time I heard that it confused me. A buddy in college invited me over to a BBQ I figured shit they cooking a whole hog maybe he doesn't call them pig pickins', show up they got hamburger and hot dogs on a grill. I was like where's the BBQ he said we're having one, I was like buddy this is grilling out not a BBQ or BBQ.

I am too and call it pee-can only time I heard it refereed to as the con was when it was a pie, even then it depended where in the state the person was from that differentiated the 2.

Are you originally from the Burlington area? I grew up in Caswell county, my wife is from Mebane. I worked in Graham for 15 years, then we moved to the Wake Forest area for my current job. Looking to move back home soon.
