two months old and less than 5000 miles and the seat is already showing torn threads. See picture. Any ideas how to stop it? My other truck had cloth seats and went over 150,000 without issue.

You're still under warranty. Take it back to the dealer and show them before you do anything else.

Is that from the seat belt or from you when you slide into the truck?

It looks like it's from me. I just sat in it and the belt is no where near that area. I have only owned it long enough to wear t-shirts. No jacket or anything else. Don't carry my phone or anything else on my belt.

You might be able to get that replaced due to "premature wear". You would have to see a dealer first.

I noticed that I was causing similar wear on my truck (it's a 2012), and has a couple tears so I need to replace the seat cover anyway. I try and change the way I get in the truck now. It doesn't help when the truck is lifted as mine is.

Dealer took a picture of it and placed it in my file. Stated they will replace it when or if it gets worse.
I will keep an eye on it.

I often wear surf shorts and noticed this happening due to the velcro from the pocket shorts rubbing the seat cover.

I had an issue like that and found that my phone was being carried on my left side which actually caused the rubbing. Obviously you may have a different situation, but I’d check for anything being carried on the left that can rub getting in and out.
