7CC12DA2-B312-45DA-9E65-C919D04C5238.jpg I’ve jumped into the deep end and purchased a head unit with Navigation from a 2019 Tacoma, and intend to swap it into my ‘08 with the CD changer. Has anyone out there already done this?

The 3rd gen head unit drops straight into the 11 - 15 trucks. For the 10 and earlier there’s some sort of work to be done. I’ve seen the threads here but can’t recall what the exact details were.

TLDR version: I know it CAN be done, just can’t advise on the process.

Laura missed us on our end of the state, made a mess of the Southwest end. Needless to say we were ready for war while we watched it pass us by.

Bumpppp! How did it work out for you? I'm putting a 2018 unit into my 2015. Fits fine but the surround will be hacked up.

other then the stock look reason why moving to this? lack of CarPlay was one of the biggest reason i moved to a new aftermarket head unit

I don't even know what "carplay" is. So..... I probably don't need it.

you probably do you just didnt know you did. pretty much extends useful apps that work and integrate with the head unit. useful apps that are far superior to anything stock provided.

Maps - Waze, Google Maps, Gaia

Music - Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify,

you may be using those apps already just with your phone mounted some place fiddling with a small screen. now with some of the 10.1" screens manufacturers are putting out its adds a lot more to the driving experience.
