Doing some maintenance items on my vehicle to keep her running and got myself a new fuel filter directly from the Toyota dealer. This is for the 2.7L 4 cylinder 4x4 double cab. (Also it was a bear to even get out!)

The 4 aluminum washers that are on the existing fuel filter at the banjo connections are all round.
But the ones I got in the OEM box (all packaged together) have 3 round ones, and this weird looking one that is round and has a square top (at the bottom of the photo) . Has anyone else seen this? And do you know where I need to put this weird looking one?

    Thanks!

    It's for a zip tie.

Do you know why I'd need a zip tie when this washer is held in place by the banjo bolt?

Also, do you know which side of the filter, and which side of the banjo bolt, this should go on?
(i.e., the inlet vs the outlet side? and against the filter body vs against the banjo bolt on the outer side?)

Do you have a filter mounting bracket?

Someone dropped the wrong thing in your box.

I like that style I could tie wire on till I get the bolts started

I hate banjo bolt fittings I need to buy the washers by the 100 I might get 4 filters changed in that 100 washers

    More then likely

I have never seen one like that

If it works and your stuck by all means use it.

Only one in the bag it would have some direction as to where it would get installed

Was there an Odd Washer you removed or they were all the same?

Zip tie in place leaves both hands free for install

they were all the same on the old one.
I think I'll wait, since it was such a PITA to get to I'd hate to chance it with a washer that causes a leak. I'll call the dealer tomorrow and try to get a round one. Thanks for the help!
