That bed-step looks like the way to go! ... I think I'll also get some of the T-nuts (Cheap) and fabricate something. I've got some 1 1/2" nylon strap (Like the flat stuff, from a ratchet tie-down) and making a loop with it and holes in the ends that a bolt could go through and into a T-nut. If/when I make one, I'll absolutely post a pic.
Ya know, if Toyota is listening .. This might not be a bad thing to create and have/sell as an accessory. A grab handle that fits into the tie-down railing. Couldn't hurt, but could really be useful for some of us, right?
Wow ... Going to the drive-in ... You still have those where yer at? I wished we did... I haven't been to an actual drive-in since about 1990! LOL!

If I had known about those when I bought my truck, I'd of said 'Bolt one of those on, here's some extra $$!' LOL!
But I had to order my rig and wait for 3 months to get it, so there was no 'bargaining' to be had. Price was what it was.
You know what I was pleasantly surprised of though? I bought the Bare Bones Basic truck and was really surprised with all the 'extras' that come 'standard' with a Toyota .. That other brands charge you extra for.

"but I'm afraid I'll slip and scratch my truck!"
    LOL!!!!!
I went to the local convenience store this morning in my old rig... The girl at the counter said 'Hey! Where's your new truck??'
I said 'It's at home, parked in the shop..'
She said 'Well how come you're not driving yer BRAND NEW truck?'
And I said 'What! And get it dirty? Are you crazy?' LOL!!!! :D

Well, I got one of those bed steps from harbor freight just to extend my bed extender even further to carry 17' wood trim.

It works fine for $20. Not sure why the toyota bed step costs 200 bucks. Is it made out of vibranium?

LOL! Didn't know HF made them .... Is it a 'universal' thing? Is the Toyota one made to specifically fit/bolt to the back of a Toyota... Or is theirs a 'universal' fit thing also?
HF can be a real 'ify' thing .. I bought a 1/2" air impact gun from them 20 years ago ... Still works like a champ. Other things I bought from them crumbled into dust in a week. You never know with that place.
Still, I gotta wonder .. a $20.00 bed step vs. a $200 bed step? There's gotta be SOME kind of difference, wouldn't you think?
Although it's hard to argue with 'It works fine' kinda' thing

Yeah, its made out of powder-coated steel that plugs into the trailer hitch. Its pretty freaking heavy. Basically its a trailer hitch extender with some diamond plate welded on top.

I saw a plastic one that may be better for backing into stuff accidentally.

    LOL!
Funny thing is ... I'm coming around.
Before ... Being Old School and all that ... My thought was 'WTF do I need a back-up camera for? More stuff to go WRONG! If I can't back up without running into stuff, take my DL away!' LOL!
I kinda' like having it now... (Old Dogs learn new tricks? LOL!!)
