It is actually very important that you use heat shielding and don't throw it all in and just say "good enough"

The fuel line and other lines do get moved back out of the way, but heat shield is still critical (and included).

Although the trucks that don't have any of the brake stuff on the drivers side will have an easier job.

Haha. I have a LOT of brake stuff going on over there. I have a whole thread on my brake mods but I have a bunch of extra line over there and they stick out a little more than stock. I was totally kidding, I am definitely going to save up enough for the whole package, just glad to see great pictures of exactly how to execute it and be able to predict the costs more accurately!

If you mean what's on his downpipe, it's the lava exhaust wrap. I copied Meso last week and ordered all the same heat shielding and exhaust wrap and turbo blankets and whatnot.

    Here’s what I ordered.
The reflective sleeve(adhesive) is good for the AC lines, wiring loom, etc
The thermal barrier (24”x24”) is thicker used for larger areas like around the fuel lines, brake booster, etc.
The Tape is good to mesh the barrier together, finish the edges, or get small/hard to reach areas.
The firesleeve(black stuff) is going to go over the 1” oil drain hose.
Hope this helps anyone else looking for some heat protection

Downpipe is wrapped with lava wrap, and the hot side has a blanket. All purchased from PTP

lol I did the same. I wanted the PTP blankets after seeing MESOs, because I was using some custom wrap on my hotsides, but they were all sold out.
    The cobb one fit great.

Give me a moment I actually want to expand on this question "is the tune completed"
I want to show you what I was working on in the background, and exactly why.

Please don't have this be out of response to feeling attacked, just for the record. That was never my intent at all.

After all, you're the one making it happen, not us. If a tune isn't completed and is still being workshopped (or was because you said it's done), then it's still being fine tuned. :notsure: I'm certainly not upset at you Mat.

no no ! I just want to show you guys something and explain why
    editing**

Okay so. The tune by all means is complete.
It runs fantastic and in boost is smooth as butter. Transition into boost, smooth as butter.
No hiccups, nothing. Feels like a truck you buy off the lot with turbos.

however.... still I wasn't happy. There were a few areas where the trucks AFR would be a bit too rich in boost. Does it hurt anything? No. Without widebands on each bank would anyone even know? Nope.

But it existed, and I don't like that. especially during part throttle transitions into full throttle the AFR could dip into the 9's. Very rich.

    Here is why.
The stock ECU has 2 values for controlling load and resulting FUEL from that load.
so imagine in "low" we have "100"
and in high we have "150".
depending SOLELY on RPM, it will switch. Doesn't matter what throttle is, doesn't matter what MAF reading is.
not ideal. But not a deal breaker....for some.

You really need to be able to dial in the fuel for a given throttle position and RPM. On the stock ECU *you cannot do that*.

So, instead of using the stock ECUs logic of seting our load and fuel control point just by RPM. I designed and custom coded a 3D table that allows me to directly tune load and resulting fuel by .. throttle and RPM.
We pair this with our AFR table (CL patch for target AFR) and we can dial in all the little areas where controlling it before just wasn't possible.

as you can see on this table, we can DIRECTLY change how much fuel we want exactly by throttle and RPM. It will be correct *every single time* (so long as boost does not change).

TLDR: the tune actually works flawless without this table, but just isn't as good as with.

They're not in stock. I had an order for the blankets from Full Race and then they contacted me to say that they were backordered by 2-4 weeks. That's when I cancelled my order and purchased from Cobb. Had them in hand three days later.

If emissions hooks up to OBD2 and revs the engine can you pass without cats? I dont believe they do a visual inspection. I think they just care about collecting their $25 / year and no CEL's
