I am wanting to get running boards for my truck and getting a ton of different information. I was advised that the bolt patterns for the frames are the same on all generations, is that correct? I called the parts department at one dealership, they said yes. Then I called another one, and they told me know. Does anyone here have any knowledge on this?

    Thank you!

Second and third gen are the same.

Do yourself a favor - once you've decided on which one(s) you like, get prices from the vendors here. I neglected to do that for my Podium steps and could have saved $40. Still got a good price but could have been better.

Most of these companies are pretty solid. I would clap nfab directly and get your answer in 90 seconds

The majority of the steps on Extreme Terrain's site list them as working with '05-'20.

    https://www.extremeterrain.com/tacoma-running-boards-side-steps.html

Edit: My NFab Podiums on my 2019 are listed as working with a 2012, too.

You'll be fine. Go pick 'em up!

They said the nerf bars are all compatible, its when you steer away from nerf that you start to have issues with the curvature of the bar fitting the body style.

I picked up the exact same set of boards and installed them on my 17 but the front of the boards are rubbing the underbody and make a loud annoying contact noise when going over any bumps. Did yours have this issue?
I might have to add 1/2” spacers or drill out the brackets to slide the boards rearward 1/2”.
