TRD intake, skid plate, cat back exhaust and short throw shifter. Bilstein 5100 leveling front and 5100 shocks rear. 32” Falken WP AT4W tires on Gen 3 wheels.
After receiving a windfall a friend of my wife bought an orange 2018 Off Road with a 3” Rough Country spacer lift and 285/70-17 Falken Wildpeaks. I had recommended spending a little more for a new one and building it to suit her but she fell in love with the ‘18. I’m concerned about the longevity of this truck and recommended she add a differential drop to improve the CV joint angle. Any other suggestions?

I’d start by taking off the hockey pucks and doing a real lift

Isn’t there an entire thread of people saying to avoid/take off the diff drops on third gens?

Remove the CVs and jack it up another inch. Issue solved. Sounds like the truck is more about appearances. 4WD is likely just an annoyance.

Agree. We are fortunate enough to live near Toytec. I’ll try to steer her in that direction.

    Oh howdy fellow Coloradan!

Yeah I can't imagine the ride on a 3" spacer lift is very nice either. I guess figure out if she wants the lift for the height/look more or for offroad. If it's more for looks you can find something that will ride nice and smooth on the road instead of a more offroad setup.

We really need to see a photo of your wife’s friend to give appropriate advice.

I'm pretty good at this. Even a first name and accurate measurements would be of help.

    This.

Also if your coming online to get help about giving it, perhaps you’re not the best person to be offering advice.

    You offered advice.

    She didn't take it.

    Her money, her choice.

Is it your responsibility to fret over the longevity of her truck?

    No? Then don't.

Too many other things in life deserve your attention more than some other chics truck.

    I'd avoid giving any advice.

She bought a used truck with questionable "upgrades" and history. At some point there will be a mechanical/electrical/gynecological issue.

When that comes to pass, it won't be because of the sketchy past, unknown quality of previous work, or even just plain old "it wore out".
No. It will be your fault because she did what you said and now look what happened!!!

Or maybe not because she's that ultra rare not batshit crazy single girl.
