Catch can is my next mod. @tweakit88 or @TRD Tyler has done it with the same kit I believe.

 

Adding the catch can only catches the oil that slips through the pressure equalization (PCV) tube. Not sure how this would starve the engine for oil.

My catch can catches a significant amount of oil while wheeling.

 

No at extreme angles the oil floods the top of the engine and dumps into the cylinders via the pcv. The catch can catches that oil and prevents it from having that issue

 

Does that mean you need to top off your oil levels?

 

It's a turd gen problem I've never had an issue and yes if you burn off enough you should check the oil to make sure it didn't get too low.

No doubt in my mind the CVs I damaged were all due to me trying to climb things I should not have been but sometimes it makes it . A front locker should be used to get you over uneven ground where one or more tires are off the ground but I use them sometimes to climb and sometimes they go boom.
Things last if they are taken care off, I have two more Tacomas and the one my son uses as a daily has over 350,000. Never had any issues other than maintenance things.

 

Just hit 310K on my son's 2nd gen. He's really proud of that truck, now that he helped repair it. I taught him how to change the oil for the first time last weekend! He says he's glad he got the Tacoma instead of his paw paw's old Silverado! That makes me proud. lol

 

I just got Bob to move all of our old ride videos over here to Alabama as well. Now we're all consolidated. Thanks for your help @tcBob, you rock!

We definitely got a group here that likes to ride. I know members come and go, but hopefully new members will join in on our trail festivities. We always have fun though!

 

Ya'll are probably the most active group on the East Coast for wheelin' and taking trips. Wish it weren't so daggum far for me or I'd be joining you more often.

 

Maybe one day, the Bama TW group will ride up to where you are at, and do a take over!

 

Not anything around here really to wheel. URE is a little ummmmmm well it's fun for a day and it's my proving grounds so to speak and to keep in practice but that's about it.

 

I wanna go run the GA traverse full next time SC back to Bham.

 

Well maybe we can meet in the middle somewhere! We are gonna try and do a Moab trip next year. We would like to hit the Georgia Traverse and KAT sometime this year in the Fall.

Drive here to the beginning of the trail and ride the traverse all the way back. I bet we could do it in 3-4 days

 

Where would the offroad trail end if we started there?
