Ist time post , long time visitor , 21 yr Lexus tech and feel like i should give back & share a mod i did for my brothers 05 tacoma. I love his LED fog lights but hate how they go off with high beams..
I wired up fog lights to come on whenever the tail lights or headlights are on & stay on even when the high beams are on & its 1 simple wire. just Strip a wire & put in the #3 spot of the towing relay & put the towing relay back in. Then gently bend the # 1 blade of the fog relay & connect with a crip female terminal, takes minutes :) I used the towing relay power because i still want it off when tail lights or headlights are off. Hope someone here finds this useful & if you have another gen i can get the info for how it would work if its different. Cheers Dfuse block .jpg fuse block diagram.jpg fog fuse power.jpg fog only .jpg fog n hi .jpg

    Stock for now.. maybe
Not a bit bright for the unfortunate people in oncoming traffic?
Everyone 'accidentally' forgets to turn off their brights/fog lights every now and then. Hopefully they are aimed in the correct direction.
Sorry, not trying to bash but someone will probably enjoy your info.
Your brothers truck looks pretty nice and clean for the year (compliment)

scatter? not sure what that means i just know they are wat better than normal ones inside 300 k lenses. Im normally driving in quiet heavily wooded areas with only deer to worry about but if/when i drive by someone they are normally never shy of letting me know if they dont like high beams on & havnt yet...kind of like post replys :) Ive seen other kits but havnt looked into other posts sorry if this is reduntant.

Park the truck with a wall ahead (or garage door) and check to see if it still has the designed in "cut-off" for the driving lights. They are too far off the ground to be called "fogs". As delivered - with the original bulbs - you will find a distinctive line where the upward portion of the lighting envelope is trimmed off by the reflectors. You an use a similar, higher powered bulb in the socket and retain the cut-off - but LEDS are not going to work with the original reflector optics.

Those arent fog lights at this point. Those are high beams that are on all the time. On coming drivers hate you for this. Always good to have a write up
