In case anyone else has the Qi pad bubbling up, I’m at the stealership right now getting mine replaced under warranty. Just FYI. I don’t really use it (actually it doesn’t work with my iPhone and Otterbox). 2 hours they say and the part took 3 weeks to arrive.

Haven't had mine bubble up, but with it being a generic charging pad, it definitely creates a lot of heat with my phone and my fiance's phone. So much so that we rarely use it and/or the phone will automatically stop charging due to the heat and just sit at whatever percentage it's at.

I don't believe this is unique to the Toyota charging pads though since the "fast charge" power can be different for different phones so it's just easier to go with a slower charge rate.

Never use mine. Any number of lower cost power options would have been a better choice than that charge pad - power port by the rear view mirror for dash cams, rear AC power outlet, extra USB ports front and rear.

Mine hasn't bubbled up, but it isn't hard to see why it would. It charges so hot that it errors out whenever I use it, so I stopped trying. Over enough cycles of that, it is bound to warp something.

Mine works fine and hasn't bubbled. Since there is no fan the phone can get warm, so I just keep an eye on it every now and then to make sure it doesnt overheat. Not too hard to stick your hand in there and feel (that's what she said).

There's a thread on here about this. I recommend searching for it. Mine bubbled up without using it once. Luckily I was still under warranty at the time.

I don't use my phone while driving unless I'm stopped, but I read that it's bad to use any Qi wireless charger if you're taking the phone on and off often as it can negatively affect battery life. I just use the USB.

Mine works fine but something under there rattles like crazy and it's driving me nuts. But I'm too lazy to tear apart the entire center console just to get under there to see if I can see what might be causing the noise.
