This assumes we make it long enough to reach the light at the end of the tunnel though... bold assumptions

 

I didn't realize I was so old. I guess I do feel old some days, and forget things every now and then.

Now get off my lawn.

 

There's a lot of us that felt that way when we were 25. Now what do we do?

 

Well, as I understand it, we do things like make trips to Cheney to see our buddies, and don't need permission - even in the middle of the week.

 

I don't even work for me, how could I ever expect my money to...

 

I make more money now at 62mph than I ever made working.

And don't rush through life because you think "it's fragile." One of the great things I learned from my dad - who is one of the most laid back people I know - is that the joy of slowing down (and the reduced pressure that comes with that) far outweighs the gains of speeding up to "get through" everything.

Actually - a parallel to this - is Death Valley.

• First trip there, I wanted to see everything. It was so far away, would I ever get back?
• Second trip was the same way, but as I got to the end of that trip, I was like, "man, I'm definitely coming back - there's just so much to explore."
• Third trip, I decided to focus "only" in Eureka Valley and Saline Valley. OMG, still too much for one trip - I discovered more to explore in both those places than I knew about when I embarked on the trip.
• Fourth trip - I stayed in the northern half of Eureka Valley for 3 days. One of those days, I drove less than 2 miles.

Every trip has been more enjoyable than the last. Slow down, there's so much you miss when you go to fast.

Now, would I have understood that at 30? Probably not - I mean, the first trips to DV were when I was 40, and I was still rushing. I'm still not as good at it as my dad. But the sooner you can realize and embrace it, the better, IMO.

If you have a bed full of shit I think its easier to drop the tank. I'm sure my 1" body lift helps though. Keep your old pump as a spare. Never know if you might need to drop your tank on the side of the highway sometime

 

I second Ben here. There are things I’ll slow down for and take as long as I want, and there are some things I don’t care one bit about so why waste my precious time on them.
Ya, I like to live a little more fast paced. I’d rather see/do a couple more things and spend a little less time on each, so maybe I can go back if it was truly special.

 

I hope Mike doesn't mind me posting this... they'll give everyone else's a definite bar to live up to.

We aren't totally sure what we are going to do but something. Might go check out a new area.

 

My house came with a rock crawling course. So I parked my truck on it...then 5 hours later all the diff fluid leaked out the down hill wheel

Last weekend of the archery elk hunt, and then if the weather forecast holds true I’ll probably take advantage of online school and extend my weekend another day or 2.

 

Looks like another one bites the dust. Wheel bearings for you!

 

Doing a couple hikes, family is coming into town for the kid’s first birthday on Sunday, and took advantage of the Labor Day sales and finally picked up a string trimmer. Some friends are going wheeling tomorrow but don’t think I’ll be able to make it unfortunately.

 

Hearing any bugles? I was out all day and didn't hear a peep. Lots of fresh tracks though.

 

I went up the mountain to check my camera tonight, SD card was gone so I said fck it and came back to town to set drunk
