Fixing the cowl leak

    So...I asked about this issue last spring and just getting around to taking a look. I was told that when I removed the cowl I'd have an 'A-HA' moment which I think I just did. Seems that the opening for the interior fan passes water that isn't diverted via the cowl above. Since the new and improved replacement cowl (which supposedly addresses this) is in the hundred of $ range, I'm just wondering if there's any tried and true home grown solutions? I'll likely fasten some kind of roof out of plastic or aluminum that still allows the passage of air but blocks water from above, but thought I'd ask before I set out to make something.

    Worked for me and fixed the problem. Bolt it in using those 2 holes.

    secondary problem , cabin air filter gets wet , and slows circulation somewhat .( even after it dries ).. Probably a washable version on the market , but i havent looked - yet
