I got a step closer to getting it mounted...

Picked up an outerlimits supply quick release bracket awhile back. (Hint.. check the uptop website)

I used an Apache case from harbor freight. And it took a minor modification in order to work.
    20200821_200201.jpg

    20200821_200116.jpg

As you can see, I had to remove two of the little ribs on the bottom. I used a small pair of flush cut sidecutters and just nibbled the ridges off, then hit it some sandpaper to smooth it out.

Pull red handle to release .

Now to find a spot to mount it, bot sure if it will go on the bravo or in the bed on the front gear panel I did last year.

Have not seen much posted about the bracket or using it on other case than what outerlimits sell.

Any update on lead time? Ordered a TRUSS Retrax bed rack on July 7 with a stated 4-6 week lead time. 7 weeks as of today with no news or update. I know that Uptop has been busy, just wondering about delivery time with no update of lead times coming out lately.

The wait is over, just got off the phone with uptop and my bed rack will be shipped out next week. I upgraded my retrax cover with XR rails last week, and I cant wait to mount my new rack with bike attachment. Having a bed rack and a fully functioning tonneau cover to secure my gear is the best of both worlds.

I've gone through this entire thread, and drooled over everyone's pics! These racks look incredible. I've got my wife sold on the idea, but I haven't told her the cost. Hopeful to have her totally on board soon, and have one on order. In the mean time, I'll just keep drooling.

Two questions for you when you get a chance:

    1. Is the mid-height for the Tacoma Truss Retrax the same 11.5" high measured from the bedrail as the regular Truss? Or is it measured from the Retrax rails? (I know it says from the bed rail on the website, but just wanted to be sure.)

    2. How high is the Alpha eX when it's mounted to the mid-height Truss?

    Thanks!

Got my rack rock lights put in. Made a custom wire harness so the rack and lights can be removed easily if need be. Hooked them up to a wireless relay powered by the battery, so I can turn them on anytime with a couple remotes that the relay box came with. It's a nice relay box for the money. The remotes have rolling codes for security so errant signals won't turn them on randomly.

@MESO How do I get a rock light out of the custom housing you made for these rack lights? My order came with one dome light instead of a rock light. I put it in anyway, because I have a trip coming up and I'd rather have it in than have nothing. But, I think I found a local source for another rock light, so I might go grab that today and try to swap. I had to press the rock light into the housing with all my might. It's not going to come out easily. There are no holes on the back of the housing to press it out from the back.
