a lot of bad ass stuff
Columbus has a cool little downtown district. There was(I’m guessing it’s still there) a restaurant that had an upstairs club that would do comedy every Saturday. The canon brew pub was always a good eat. The river walk provides for some nice scenery throughout its long path.

Anyone have a recommendation on a tripod for a DSLR? I don't use my camera often enough to justify the cost...especially with how good phone cameras have become. That said, I had a flimsy cheap Amazon tripod that my mom got my one year for Christmas as an add-on gift. It was great for what it was, but I hated using it because it was just that flimsy.

I'm not looking for professional quality or anything, but something that the legs don't flex under the weight of the camera either. I'd like the thing to feel firmly planted on the ground.

Oh yeah. Are you looking for a ground tripod (very low to the ground non adjustable) or are you looking for telescopic legs that can be low to the ground or used standing ?

Edit: do you do any long range shooting as well? You can double up on it. Though I'm looking now and it seems like they jacked the prices up significantly over the last 3 years

You're thinking of The Loft. Still there. Awesome, awesome place. Family friendly all the way up until about 930/10p when the clubbing crowd shows up.

Just a general purpose tripod. One that I can use standing up and will preferably hold steady with a 200-300mm lens.

Seem like a good one? https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-centi...qid=1598965010&sprefix=tripod,aps,185&sr=8-52

has the twist lock legs, converts to monopod, 66" height and 26.5 lb rating. From what I've gathered over the past day looking at tripods, this one seems to check all the boxes at just under $100.

Plus 985 reviews for a 4+ star rating. My fear is not spending the extra $30 on one that comes recommended.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
The real question is how much that companies pays to be in that little Recommended Box. Lol

I mean Joe Blows Landscaping is right in front of me, but the recommended company is AMG Landscaping is $30 more!

I should have specified...."than paying the $30 more for a brand recommended by another person on TW."

Might be just as good. It seems to check all the boxes, so I think I'm going to order it. I just hate spending that much money on a tripod. That absolutely seems like something that should have good alternatives.

on second thought, maybe I'll just make one out of some spare 2x4. :annoyed:

Yes yes, bring wheel barrows of cash to help pay for the raw barn wood I need to wall the rooms in of the mtn house.
I am about to start ripping this thing apart and creating one badass fortress!
