2013 Tacoma Prerunner

Hi TW, I own a 2013 Tacoma, I recently wired up a led strip with turn signal and drl that sticks on top of the headlights and I have a minor wiring issue right now, so I spliced into the side marker for the DRL function and spliced into the turn signal for turn signal function, but when I turn it on DRL and Side Marker mode, the turn signals kicks in, the only way I have the DRL is if i turn my headlights fully on. If you have any ideas please let me know as I haven't found any threads on this. Thanks in advance.
